Kentucky's third Buc-ee's is planned for Oak Grove off I-24, though major intersection upgrades may delay the fall 2026 opening.

Kentucky's Third Buc-ee's Planned for Oak Grove

Oak Grove, Kentucky near Fort Campbell is set to become home to Kentucky's third Buc-ee's location, with an expected opening of Fall 2026 - though infrastructure challenges may cause delays.

Announcement

In September 2024, a Buc-ee's representative announced during an Oak Grove city council meeting that they were going to construct a location in the city. This will be the third Buc-ee's in Kentucky, joining existing locations in Richmond and Smiths Grove.

Location

The massive convenience store and gas station will be located off Exit 89 on Highway 115, providing easy access from Interstate 24.

Infrastructure Challenges

Construction was originally expected to begin in summer 2025, but studies have revealed significant infrastructure needs:

Massive intersection upgrades required
Problems with the nearest I-24 exit ramp requiring complete rework
Roundabouts need to be added

These requirements have caused considerable delays, and as of May 2025, Buc-ee's has declined to comment on a specific groundbreaking timeline.

Economic Impact

When completed, the development is estimated to bring about 200 jobs and a surge in local tax revenue to Christian County.

Current Status

The project remains in the planning and infrastructure preparation phase. Construction is expected to begin once the necessary road improvements are in place.
