Buc-ee's Oak Creek, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin (WI) - Coming April 2027

Wisconsin's first Buc-ee's is coming to Oak Creek off I-94, featuring a 73,370 square foot store with 120 pumps and 250 jobs.

Wisconsin's First Buc-ee's Coming to Oak Creek

The Badger State is getting its first Buc-ee's! Oak Creek, located just south of Milwaukee, will be home to Wisconsin's inaugural Buc-ee's location, expected to open in April 2027.

Land Purchase

Buc-ee's purchased 27.5 acres in Oak Creek for $7.5 million to build the travel center. The planning commission has approved the project, allowing Buc-ee's to proceed with permits and construction.

Location

The store will be located at the southwest corner of I-94 and Elm Road, making it easily accessible for travelers on one of the Midwest's busiest interstate corridors. This will also be the chain's northernmost store and the first near the Chicagoland area.

Store Specifications

  • 73,370 square feet of retail space
  • 120 gas pumps
  • Ethanol-free fuel options
  • Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)
  • EV charging stations

Economic Impact

  • Up to 250 full-time staff
  • 125 workers at peak hours
  • $5-6 million in infrastructure improvements paid by Buc-ee's

Traffic Expectations

The travel center expects around 70,500 vehicles to visit each week and up to 10,080 vehicles each day, bringing significant traffic to the area.

Why Oak Creek First?

A store in DeForest, Wisconsin was originally announced in March 2023 and was slated to be Wisconsin's first Buc-ee's. However, infrastructure funding issues delayed that project, allowing Oak Creek to become the first completed location in the state.
