Kentucky's First Buc-ee's
Buc-ee's unveiled its first Kentucky location in Richmond on April 19, 2022. Located at 1013 Buc-ee's Boulevard at the northeast corner of I-75 and Duncannon Lane, this travel center brought the Buc-ee's experience to the Bluegrass State.
Grand Opening
Doors opened to the public at 6 a.m. EST, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed at 11 a.m. The Buc-ee's beaver mascot helped cut the ribbon at the grand opening, which drew large crowds from across Kentucky.
Location
The Richmond location serves travelers on the busy I-75 corridor between Lexington and Knoxville. It's conveniently located near Eastern Kentucky University and provides a major stop for road trippers heading to or from the Kentucky mountains.

Not a Truck Stop
"We are a family travel center, we're not a truck stop," said Buc-ee's Operational Regional Manager Josh Smith. "We don't even allow 18-wheelers on the property."
Employment
Buc-ee's Richmond brought 175 new jobs to the area with starting pay beginning well above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% matching 401(k), and three weeks of paid vacation.
